Washing and caring for a plush sound machine
A plush sound machine gets treated very differently from a plastic one: it gets carried around, chewed on, dropped on the floor, and eventually needs an actual wash rather than just a wipe down. Here's how to look after one properly.
Always remove the module before washing
The single most important habit is removing the electronic module before the plush body goes anywhere near water. A mini screwdriver is included specifically for this, and it's worth doing it as a matter of routine rather than only when the toy looks obviously dirty, since regular washing keeps a toy that gets mouthed and carried everywhere genuinely hygienic.
Let it air dry completely before reassembly
Once washed, give the plush body plenty of time to air dry fully before reinserting the electronic module, dampness trapped inside the toy is the main risk to the electronics and battery compartment, not the washing itself. If you're unsure whether it's fully dry, err on the side of waiting longer rather than reassembling early.
Treat the module itself as electronics, not fabric
The module should never be submerged or run through a washing machine itself, only the fabric body. A quick wipe with a dry cloth is enough if the module's exterior needs cleaning between full washes of the toy.
Why manual control suits a toy like this
Because this sleep soother has no cry sensor, sound and light are only ever activated when a parent chooses to switch them on. For a toy your baby will also play with during the day, this matters: it means the sound and light features stay associated specifically with the moments you intend, rather than triggering unexpectedly during daytime play.
